Christian von der Recke just bought a house. Rainmaking Loft’s new General Manager is moving from Vesterbro to the suburbs with his wife and two daughters. One of the rewards outside the city: Getting a home with the perfect work space. “We’re using the room you would traditionally use as a dining area. It has plenty of light and we’re going to have alot of plants and mobile desks.” The work zone is a primary function, as his wife runs her illustrator business from their private domain. “Obviously, I’m not a big believer in strict divisions between personal and professional spaces,” he says. “That’s what I like about Rainmaking Loft. It feels a bit like a home. You can work at your desk, but also choose to sit at a dining table or kick back on the couch with your laptop.”

Christian enters the startup scene with a background in the movie industry. He earned his entrepreneurial marks by building his own production company (House of Real), but he admits that he needs to wise up on ”some of the tech lingo”. His motivation for changing lanes is rooted in realizing what he is good at. “I thrive, when I have a managerial role, where I can keep a lot of pots cooking at the same time. That is more fun to me than filmmaking. I still love great stories, but they are present wherever people create things – especially among startups.”
